Video Marketing
Almost every startup you see online tries to sell themselves with a video explaining their product. Does it work? Well, it seems to work extremely well for Dropbox.
Well we had a different idea on the use of video. We thought that if we create a non-product video for SexyFoodie and publish it onto Facebook, people will think it will be interesting and share it with their friends. So we came up with a storyline of a UCL first year student going through her first year of university. We came across a video style that we thought could easily replicate and set about doing it. We told ourselves it will not take more than 10 hours in total and the video will go viral.
Alas, the video although interesting did not have sufficient push for people to click the Share button on Facebook to share it with their friends. And the amount of effort put into creating this video is about 40 working hours. Cathrine did the bulk of the video. It was her drawing that really made the video came to life. Tudor had a friend made a song from scratch for the video. If you both are reading this, thank you very much again for your help. It will not come to life without your effort.
In conclusion, push for easy marketing strategies. If you think something will go viral, it probably will not.
